NIKE x OFF-WHITE "The Ten"

NIKE X OFF-WHITE "The Ten"
When Nike and Off-White announced their OG ‘The Ten’ pack, it sent shockwaves through the sneakerverse. Not only were some of the most iconic Nike sneakers in the brand’s 55-year history about to get a re-release, but they also came with an ultra-modern twist that incorporated en-vogue themes of the industrial and the ironic.

NIKE X OFF-WHITE AIR JORDAN 1 OG RETRO HIGH “THE TEN”
Now one of the most expensive shoes in the world the Nike x Off-White Air Jordan 1 was the crep that kickstarted the collaboration. Don’t consider yourself ‘serious’ about sneakers until you own a pair of these.

NIKE X OFF-WHITE BLAZER MID ‘THE
TEN”
The go-to sneaker of our high-school days received a sprinkle of Virgil magic and, just like that, it became the crep of the moment once again. However the oversized tick, embossed text and shoelaces that are literally printed with “Shoelaces” still doesn’t distract us from the fact that the semi-exposed foam tongue is asking to be picked at.

NIKE X OFF-WHITE AIR MAX 90 “THE TEN”
By including the Air Max 90 in the Nike x Off-White collaboration, it allowed the sneaker to break-free from its subcultural associations. It’s true what they say: not all heroes wear capes.

NIKE X OFF-WHITE AIR PRESTO “THE TEN”
In the years leading up to the collaboration, Nike’s Air Presto had become an instantly-available sneaker that the majority feel indifferent towards. But the switch-up in materials and exaggerated details featured in the Nike x Off-white Presto turned the haters into hypebeasts.

NIKE X OFF-WHITE FLYKNIT REACT HYPERDUNK “THE TEN”
Virgil understands that the secret to reworking a complex silhouette like the Flyknit Hyperdunk is to keep things simple. This all-white overhaul, featuring translucent materials upon a flyknit base, had the basketball silhouette looking better than ever.

NIKE X OFF-WHITE AIR VAPORMAX “THE TEN”
How could Virgil enhance a shoe that already allows you to walk on air? By adding ironic quotes and a zip tag, duh.

NIKE X OFF-WHITE AIR MAX 97 “THE TEN”
To explain what the Nike x Off-White Air Max 97 means to a sneakerhead, please use your imagination to picture the following text in the format of the popular ‘expanding brain’ meme.

A pair of Ultimate Air Max 97s: Average.
A pair of Air Max 97s: Elite.
A pair of Silver Bullet 97s: Superelite.
A pair of Nike x Off-White Air Max 97s: Celestial.

NIKE X OFF-WHITE ZOOM FLY “THE TEN”
The Zoom Fly seemed like an odd choice at the time to be among the rest of ‘The Ten’ pack. Surprisingly, the Nike x Off-White iteration of the running sneaker turned out to be a highlight of the collection.

NIKE X OFF-WHITE AIR FORCE 1 “THE TEN”
Here, we have a subtle re-work of the White Air Force 1 that’s just as versatile as the timeless classic. If it’s not broke, don't fix it — just decorate it.

CONVERSE X OFF-WHITE CHUCK 70 “THE TEN”
Converse has been a subsidiary of Nike since 2003, so if Virgil wants to redesign a Chuck Taylor, Virgil can. And anyway, this translucent Chuck Taylor is so cool (cool enough to launch the translucent sneaker trend) that no one should question its existence. Even if it was fashionably late.

Travis Scott's Impact On Sneaker Culture

How Travis Scott Took Over the Sneaker World Travis Scott’s Nike collaborations have become so enormously popular that selling them is hazardous to stores. I’m not kidding! For his latest sneaker, a take on the iconic Nike Dunk, Scott gave local skate shops first dibs on sales. This would seem to be a golden opportunity: all of Scott’s collaborative shoes attract a massive amount of attention and sell out instantly. And yet some retailers literally won’t bring the shoes into their stores. Labor, a New York City skate shop the size of a well-to-do Upper Westsider’s walk-in closet, was so overcome with interest it announced the shoes would never be in the store. “PLEASE stop the calls, dm’s, emails, etc., we are not going to respond,” the shop’s Instagram pleaded.  “I've been privy to quite a few drops in my time where you think, ‘Yo, is the fever at the maximum level?’” says sneaker influencer, DJ, and consultant Kish Kash. “This one is beyond anything I...

7 Key Takeaways From Kanye West’s Conversation With Joe Rogan

Kanye West finally followed through with his long-awaited appearance on the  Joe Rogan Experience , and the interview was just as wild as fans were expecting.  West is a man who discusses multiple, unrelated topics simultaneously; at one point, he compares his thought process to Super Mario, frantically jumping from one rapidly disintegrating cloud platform to another. Seems like a pretty appropriate analogy.  Here are 7 key takeaways from the 3-hour interview:  Kanye doesn’t sop talking Joe Rogan didn’t get much of a chance to speak in this one, as West took what few questions he had and ran with them, sprinting through several subjects without ever quite reaching a coherent point.  West seems like the kind of guy who is always absorbing information, through conversations, business ventures, media, and memes. But he can’t quite articulate it. When West is attempting to answer a question, he seems to get lost on the way, delivering a stream-of-consciousness ramb...
